Mercer Street Banner Art Call

 Let your art shine in the heart of Dripping Springs! 

About the Exhibit

We are thrilled to extend a special invitation to our DSAL members to be part of a unique art opportunity which will run from approximately May 1 – June 30, 2025

Location

Mercer Street – Downtown Dripping Springs

• The DSAL has been approached by the city of Dripping Springs to design six lamp post banners that will be printed and hung on lamp posts along Mercer Street. This is your chance to showcase your talent to a diverse audience.
• The City is seeking submissions that creatively capture the theme Summertime in Dripping Springs. Artists are encouraged to explore and interpret the vibrant activities and scenes from summertime Dripping Springs.
• There will be a viewing and Artist Reception May 14th. All artists are welcome to attend along with family and friends.

• Artwork submissions should align with a “family-friendly” theme that illustrates the theme Summertime in Dripping Springs. Submitted works should refrain from featuring nudity, political or religious statements, violence, or sexualized content, as these elements will not be accepted.
• Artists are invited to submit a concept design that provides a clear representation of their final artistic vision. The concept does not need to be fully completed artwork but should effectively convey the intended direction. Use the provided template.
• Artists are welcome to use a diverse range of various mediums, including (but not limited to) oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, mixed media, gouache, fiber art, collage, digital creations, drawings, and charcoal to create their concept
• Please note that final artwork submitted by the artist must be a high resolution digital file and formatted to fit a 20” x 60” banner for printing.
• The City has the right to decline or ask for modifications to all designs.
• There is no submission fee, and artists may submit up to three entries. 
• Please note that all images and details must also be submitted by March 2nd.

Important Dates:

• February 14 – Artist Call Opens
• March 2 – Art Submission deadline
• March 16 – Notification of acceptance via email
• April 13 – Final image file due to City
• May 1 – City will install all banners May 1-14
• May 14 – DSAL artist reception & viewing downtown
